Hi, all.
I'm new to Alt Linux and currently testing 5.0.2 Terminal from Michael
Shigorin's web site:
altlinux-5.0-20110423-terminal-i586-ru-install-cd.iso at
http://ftp.linux.kiev.ua/pub/Linux/ALT/people/mike/iso/terminal/
After launching Synaptic, I clicked Reload to get the latest offerings
and I got this message:
"Could not download all repository indexes"
And it noted that Synaptic Preferences currently point to:
http://ftp.altlinux.org/pub/distributions/ALTLinux/5.0/Desktop/current/i586/base/release
which does not exist.
I did find the following, but don't know if it would be appropriate to
point to it:
http://ftp.altlinux.org/pub/distributions/ALTLinux/5.0/
branch/i586/base/release
<http://ftp.altlinux.org/pub/distributions/ALTLinux/5.0/%20branch/i586/base/release>
Synaptic hung with an working/active pointer after that, did not revert
to the original index and would not close.
After rebooting and restarting Synaptic, the original index loaded but
all controls were unresponsive and it would not close gracefully.
Diagnosis and solutions?
