While the ioslaves may be run using the FUSE gateway for other people's
needs,
we will not use that in KDE. The foremost reason is that KDE runs on systems
without FUSE (older Linux and non-Linux systems). And, besides, our IO needs
are not the same as that provided by the system calls.

KIOSlaves are there and will stay, being accessed as they are now.

But I repeat: it doesn't mean you can't mount them using FUSE for other
needs.
