;-) Ok, I should have mentioned, that I did test it with
*full-screen-captures* of a 1600x1200 screen... and possibly I should
have mentioned the machine (Athlon X2 3,7 GHz), too... Ramsize here 4BG.

PS: I forgot to present that "mplayer-magic", I mentioned: I use a
lowpass-filter like -vf unsharp=l3x3:-1 before scaling down... (Hope
this will prevent frustration for someone...) Sometimes applying it
twice can help a lot. Despite that, bigger font-settings are good,
too...
