Обсизифился и получил:
[root на gw /]# service ntop restart
service ntop is not running.                    [PASSED]

[root на gw /]# service ntop status
ntop is dead, but subsystem is locked
[root на gw /]# service ahttpd restart
Service ahttpd is not running.  [PASSED]
Starting ahttpd service:            [ DONE ]
[root на gw /]# service ahttpd status
ahttpd is dead, but stale PID file exists
[root на gw /]# uname -r
2.6.25-std-srv-alt2
[root на gw /]#
