I needed a true cross-fade for something I was working
on, so
I implemented cross-fade-in and cross-fade-out as
Nyquist effects.
The fade-in function is just f(x)=1-x^2 and fade-out is
f(x)=1-(1-x)^2.
When you fade one track out and the other one in with
this function,
the average (RMS) signal level stays the same, so it's
handy for
creating loops.

P.S. I have no idea what's going on, but I've been
trying to post to
the list from three different computers for over a
week, and all of
my posts are still being rejected! As soon as I figure
out what's
going on, I'll catch up on everything.
