Hello all,

We recorded eight simultaneous channels at 48KHz/32-bit float last
night for about ten minutes with no glitches, using 1.1.3 on Linux.
We then tried 96KHz/32-bit float using the 'other' sample rate box,
but it didn't work. I clicked the record button but nothing happened
at all.

Apart from the fact that the project files become much larger, is
there any way to confirm that Audacity is getting the audio from the
soundcard at its maximum bit rate? (24 bit in this case). I did
wonder if it might be taking 16 bit input by default, which wouldn't
be taking full advantage of the hardware, of course.

There's no setting for bitrate that I can find in the envy24control
utility (which does have a sample rate setting), so I assume the
application is supposed to set bitrate. I remember trying to set
Audacity bitrate to 24 bit once before and it didn't work - anyone
had any luck with that lately?

Cheers

Daniel
