Newer generations don't even realize where their
influences come from, well some of them don't. During
a recent session, client said, "can you raise the
level of those round things," dana--my business
partner replied "what are the round things?" Client,
"the round things on the drums."

After several inconclusive exchanges, Dana instructed
client to go to the drum kit and point at the "round
things". Client, with some indignation, got up from
the couch, went to the round thing booth and placed
hands on the high-hats.

Apparently round things are high hats which isn't a
particularly good description because when you
carefully consider the physical properties of drums
they all include roundness. Well, the kit in my round
thing room doesn't have any square objects on it.
Otherwise, I'd call it the round and square thing
room.
