[Hardware] Проблема с flash-плеером

Имеется старенький флэш-плеер Acer MF-350 (128Mb, MP3, radio, mic и 
т.п.), более распространенный вариант MSI MEGA Stick 1. Работал хорошо, 
в Сизифе автоматом подцеплялся и т.п.

Но случилась с ним беда: при включении питания стал говорить MEDIA ERROR 
и выключасться. При попытке подключить к компу:

Производитель готов помочь в таком случае. Рекомендует переформатировать 
диск в ФАТ средствами виндовз.

А теперь собственно вопрос: как переформатировать этот диск средствами 
Линукс? Попытка поглядеть на таблицу разделов не проходит:

Unable to read /dev/sde


К такому диску естественно не выходит применить mkfs.vfat.
