Do you mean, like, ELF symbols check is the problem?  Or perhaps you
can admit that older drivers is the problem (those must be adjusted
for new X.org server API, but fixing them yourself might be too hard)?

So you have two choices: 1) git.alt is the problem, xorg is fine; or
2) xorg has some problems, git.alt does a good job.  Well, you don't
even have to choose.
