What is Connectd?

    Connectd's a manager for dialup connections.  It
    allows a group of users on a LAN to share an
    internet connection through their gateway.  Users
    use special client software to start or stop using
    the net, and connectd ensures that the connection
    is up while, and only while, users are using the
    net.  (It doesn't hang around waiting for the
    connection to time out, but brings it down as soon
    as every one has finished.)

    By default connectd's set to use pppd. But scripts
    can be run when the network starts or stops, and
    when individual users or machines start or stop
    using the connection, or logon-to or logoff-of the
    server. So you could, for instance, arrange to
    enable/disable forwarding of packets from the a
    machines's IP address. The package comes with a
    unix command-line client and a tk/tcl client
    (tkconnect); a win32 client (wconnect) is
    availible separately from the same site.

В свете тулзы для настройки офисного интернет-шлюза "одним щелчком"
появился вопрос, не стоит ли посмотреть и на подобные пакеты?
Запросы на подобное ПО я относительно регулярно встречал, теперь
хоть буду знать, куда посылать ;-)
