Попробовал.

$ rpm -bb hplip.spec
ошибка: неудовлетворенные зависимости сборки:
        libcups-devel нужен для hplip-3.10.9-alt1

# apt-get  install libcups-devel

[root на C3 ~]# rpm -q libcups

Дальше ума не хватает. Жду советов.
