[Comm] А вместо make что?

Захотелось поставить прогу из исходников.
Сделал apt-get install gcc4.4,
Расраковал тарбол,
Далее
[archer5 на C3 shntool-3.0.10]$ ./configure --prefix=/usr
---8<---[bla-bla-bla]
configure: ready to compile.

shntool is now configured with the following options:

version :  3.0.10
modes   :  len fix hash pad join split cat cmp cue conv info strip gen trim
formats :  wav aiff shn flac ape alac tak ofr tta als wv lpac la mkw bonk
kxs cust term null
install :  /usr/bin

[archer5 на C3 shntool-3.0.10]$ make
bash: make: команда не найдена
[archer5 на C3 shntool-3.0.10]$

Что я делаю не так?

P.S. Да, shntool есть у нас в репозитариях. Но по своей тупости вместо
apt-cache search shntool искал shnsplit. Не нашел и полез в дебри.
Вот и напоролся. Когда наступило просветление установил из бранча.
Но осадок остался :-) Так где собака порылась с make?
