На самом деле в Вашу модель бука ставится чипсет Mobile Intel® GM965 
Express со встроенным видео. Вот исходя из этого и плясать.

Дайте все-таки вывод less /etc/X11/xorg.conf и less /var/log/Xorg.0.log
