Смотрим /etc/apt/sources.list - я решил потратить полчаса времени на 
выяснение актуальности все перечисленных там зеркал. Итоги в конце письма.

Из 13 перечисленных в /etc/apt/sources.list источников обновлений 
актуальными могут считаться 5 - т.е. чуть меньше половины. остальные 
либо вообще не работают, либо не содержат актуальных версий пакетов ( 
проверялось на пакете postgresql-server). Итоги неутешительны, и лично 
для меня это еще один повод посмотреть в сторону более других 
дистрибутивов. Хотя... Может у них все точно также... Кто - нибудь 
расскажет подобным образом о SuSe к примеру?
