Здравствуйте!

Что означает следующее?

[root на athlon root]# apt-cache search kernel24
kernel24-linus-headers - Header files for the Linux kernel
kernel24-linus-smp - The Linux kernel (the core of the Linux operating 
system)
kernel24-linus-up - The Linux kernel (the core of the Linux operating 
system)
kernel24-doc - Various documentation bits found in the kernel source
kernel24-headers - Header files for the Linux kernel
kernel24-smp - The Linux Kernel compiled for SMP machines
kernel24-up - The Linux kernel (the core of the Linux operating system)

[root на athlon root]# apt-get install kernel24-linus-up

   kernel24-linus-up#2.4.20-alt4 на i586 2.4.20-alt4

Таких виртуальных пакетов на самом деле много, и все они имеют отношение 
к ядрам.
Я могу, конечно, написать apt-get install 
kernel24-linus-up#2.4.20-alt4 на i586, но я не
понимаю, зачем apt поменял свое поведение.

Пожалуйста, объясните, в чем смысл нового подхода?
