11.1 minor release of Simply Linux operating system is available.

kernel.

Compared to version 11.0, this release features an improved appearance, 
greater system consistency and slight functional expansion.

Power management is implemented using power-profiles-daemon. There are 3 
different power profiles, a "balanced" default mode, a "power-saver" 
mode, as well as a "performance" mode.  The "performance" mode is only 
available on select systems and is implemented by different "drivers" 
based on the system or systems it targets.


Hardware Support and Drivers

Vulkan-amdgpu package has been removed from the distribution to improve 
compatibility (particularly with PortProton). It is recommended to use 
the stable and up-to-date RADV driver already present in the system. 
Basic support for NVIDIA graphics cards has been expanded by adding a 
number of packages and the latest nouveau driver (disabled by default).


Audio Subsystem

The standard audio mixer pavucontrol has been replaced by pwvucontrol 
for better integration with the modern PipeWire sound server. 
Pwvucontrol is more stable counterpart with an updated interface.


Installer

The installer's background image has been updated — it's now lighter, 
and the text is more contrasting, improving readability. A notification 
about automatic reboot appears now on the final installation step 
(especially useful when installing from Live mode). The installer's 
final page has been fully translated into English. The "Additional 
Components" subsection has been removed from additional package 
selection menu ("Games") — these packages are now installed by default. 
Installation in OEM mode now works correctly on the user's side.


Interface

LightDM Greeter (Login Screen) Updated:
* The Orchis-Light theme displays all necessary components, with 
properly scaled elements.
* The mugshot utility has been added, allowing users to set their name, 
photo and other data displayed on the login/lock screen and in the 
application menu; the distribution logo is displayed by default upon login.

Xfce Desktop Environment Design Improved:
* The "hotkeys" have been fixed and brought to the standards (e.g., 
Ctrl+Alt+T to launch the terminal).
* System event sounds are now enabled by default.
* The application menu now fully matches the selected theme.
* Search now works not only for programs but also for files by name from 
the application menu.
* Visual details have been refined to improve the user experience.
* Papirus-Light (default) and Papirus-Dark themes added.

Execute permission for the user's home directory is now provided by a 
file manager plugin Thunar Shares Plugin that allow sharing a folder 
from Thunar using Samba. Automatic assignment of execute permissions is 
no longer applied.
