Потому что gcc вообще не может запуститься с диагнозом "Resource
temporarily unavailable". С работающей системой всё в порядке? Почему
отсутствуют доступные ресурсы (в данном случае - память)?

да, какие-то траблы с системой были.<br>
Собралось - правда загружаться почему-то с 2.6.12 не захотело - времени
разбюираться не было - потому откатил на 2.6.11<br>
