В ri.tar.gz/Contrib есть скрипт под поэтическим названием vpizlo, 
представляет собой
оболочку для ri. Может, его тоже в пакет включить? Удобная вещица.

Кстати, установка ruby пакетов по-прежнему требует лишнего, например:

[root at trezor root]# apt-get install -d ruby-doc
